Second Place

The Flying Dutch clinched second place with a 4-2 road victory over Alma yesterday afternoon.

The Flying Dutch scored two goals in each half against the Scots. Goals by Sarah Sosolik and Courtney Cook put Hope ahead 2-0 at halftime. Sosolik scored her second goal of the game two minutes into the second half and then assisted on Emily Carefoot's clincher in the closing minutes of the game. Kristen Schwenk had two assists while Danielle Petzak and Bethany Hamer each had one.

Hope held a 21-13 advantage in shots and 11-4 edge in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Kelsey Bos was credited with three saves.

The MIAA tournament begins this weekend with a home game against Kalamazoo College at noon.
